The vehicle axle (1) has a wheel hub (2) and an axle shaft (3), where a coupling ring (9) is arranged concentrically with the axle shaft and is connected with the axle shaft in a rotationally fixed manner. A switchable coupling of the axle shaft and the wheel hub takes place by a coupling of former coupling ring with latter coupling ring. Former coupling ring has a claw toothing (12) at a front side and latter coupling ring has another claw toothing (13) at the front side, where former claw toothing engages into latter claw toothing for coupling.
