The quenching device has a quenching water pipe (1), whose end projects in the driving or ambient water (10) serves as quenching water source and whose another end extends to a spraying unit (3) places at watercraft (2), floating body or offshore system. A pressure fluid line (5) is extended from a pressure fluid source (4,4.1) to the spraying unit. A triggering device (4) is provided for releasing the pressure fluid volume flow.
