The device (10) has a chassis, wheels (12a,12b), from which a wheel is steered, a drive (33) for one of the wheels, and a trough-shaped receiving container (16) for the horse dung. The receiving container has a receiving volume between 60 I and 500 I and is formed for enabling a loading with horse dung upwards. The receiving container is arranged for the purpose of emptying around a horizontal axis relative to the chassis in a tilting manner. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a device for processing a hippodrome; (2) a trailer equipment for detachable fastening at a self-propelled device; and (3) a method for receiving and transporting away horse dung.
