Method for operating distance controlling system of vehicle, involves detecting bending intent of vehicle operator as predetermined condition, where bending intent is detected by evaluation of direction of travel signal of vehicle
The method involves regulating distance between a vehicle (1) and a target object (2) before the vehicle by accelerating or delaying system interventions. Acceleration of the vehicle is suppressed or deceleration of the vehicle is initiated during a target loss of the target object and during a detected predetermined condition. Bending intent of a vehicle operator of the vehicle is detected at the predetermined condition, where the bending intent is detected by evaluation of a direction of travel signal of the vehicle.
