The helical spring (6) is comprised of two end coils (61,62) and an intermediate coil (63). The outer diameter of the angular pitch region (64) of the intermediate coil is smaller than the inner diameter of angle pitch region (65), so that the angle pitch region of the intermediate coil rests in the compressed state of the helical spring. The end coils are comprised of a spring wire which is made of steel. The cross-section of the spring wire is smaller in the compressed state of the helical spring. An independent claim is included for a pneumatic actuatable brake cylinder of motor vehicle.
