The system (1) has a control device (6) i.e. part of docking device (14), including a set of audio signal input links (7, 8) and an audio signal output link (9). The audio signal input links are coupled with universal serial bus interfaces (3, 4) and the audio signal output link is coupled with an audio signal playback device (5). The control device includes a coupling device (10), and one of the audio signal input links is automatically coupled with the audio signal output link by the coupling device during presentation of the pre-determined decision criterion. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an information and maintenance system.
