The system has a sensor (1) received in a hole i.e. stepped bore, of a coil core (9), where an internal diameter of the hole is measured in a radial direction and reduced in an axial direction i.e. drilling direction. An outer diameter of the hole is measured in the radial direction and reduced in the axial direction. The sensor partially rests against the hole, where a largest outer diameter of the sensor is larger than the smallest internal diameter of the hole. The sensor comprises a thickening portion (2) that is formed in a cone shape or an annular shape. The sensor is designed as a distance sensor, an eddy current sensor or an inductive sensor. An independent claim is also included for a brake.
