The brake (25) has a free-wheeling hub (36) arranged at a rear wheel (14) of a bicycle (2). A wheel brake (15) is operated from a bottom brake (16) of the bicycle. A free-wheeling gear is provided on or in the bottom bracket. A wheel is rotatably mounted in the bottom bracket and connected to a rotatable ring. The rotatable ring is connected with a driven side of the free-wheeling gear. The wheel brake is connected with an ideal path of pedals (34) of the bicycle in propulsion direction after resignation braking and before start of propulsion.
