Recycling disused solar modules and solar cells, comprises separating cell breakage having silicon from starting materials, and treating the breakage with chloromethane/dichloromethane and hydrogen in the presence of catalyst
The method comprises separating a cell breakage having a silicon content of greater than 98 mass% from starting materials, and treating the cell breakage with chloromethane and/or dichloromethane and hydrogen in the presence of catalyst during Mueller Rochow synthesis at a temperature of 350-650[deg] C. The formed gaseous methylchlorosilanes are separated by distillation. Solids remaining in a reactor are fed to the metal recycling. The starting materials are treated at a temperature of 400-550[deg] C.
