The stretcher (2) has a supporting unit (6) that is provided with a flat portion (8) that has a top surface (10) on a planar surface of a reveal wall of a motor car as tailgate in operating position, and a bottom (14) that bears against a planar surface of a frame of the motor car and acts on the flat portion by a fixing device (18). The supporting unit is moved against the direction of travel (20) and receives the external load of motor car. The fixing device has a projection (26) that is extended transversely or obliquely or to the direction of travel. An independent claim is included for a motor car.
