The electromedical implant has a sensor unit (30) for measuring the movement of the artery in radial direction with respect to the axis defined by the central blood stream. The sensor unit has an acceleration sensor (4) with which an acceleration signal is measurable. The acceleration signal is characteristic for the acceleration of the artery in the radial direction. The sensor unit has another acceleration sensor (5) with which another acceleration signal is measured as a reference signal. The sensor unit is formed to transfer the measured acceleration signals to a signal processing unit (20) with which an acceleration value is determined by comparing the former acceleration signal with the reference signal. An independent claim is included for a sensor system with a signal processing unit to calculate the shape of the pulse wave.
