The compensating device has an optical illuminating- and imaging system with beam-forming and beam-imaging optical elements, and a unit for receiving the light for image processing- and controlling- and evaluating units. A fundus camera is provided with a separated illumination beam path (2), in which the compensating device is arranged with a compensator (13) movable in the illumination beam path. A lateral offset is compensated by the compensating device and is occurred on the optical boundary surfaces of an ophthalmic lens (4) in the formation of anti-reflection points (11).
