The engine has three engine units forming a star crankshaft drive, which transmits rotational torque to a crankshaft through connecting rods, where only traction forces are transmitted to the connecting rod. The connecting rods are arranged outside cylinder units and received in respective connecting rod holders, where the transmission of the rotational torque takes place by two fixed oscillation propeller shafts over crank arms comprising disk-like gear wheels on to a balancer shaft comprising gears on both sides.
