Rear lights (H) are operated in a standard link light operation mode with an intermittent operable bright light field, where the lights are operated intermittently. A switching unit is provided in a region of a driver operating environment, and selectively activates a special operating mode. System functions are provided by vehicle electronics, where the car is provided with a turn signal switch (1) and a shift lever (2).
