The system has a filter-catalytic converter-arrangement (31) including filter and catalytic converter elements (32, 33) coaxially arranged in a housing (21) of an exhaust treatment arrangement (20). An inlet (22) of the treatment arrangement reaches into the housing as a pipe connection (29) so that inlet ends in a middle region of the converter-arrangement. Exhaust gas (25) flowing out of the connection flows against the converter-arrangement in the middle region. Another exhaust gas (27) flowing out of another inlet (23) flows against the converter-arrangement in a radial outer ring region. An independent claim is also included for an internal combustion engine.
