The method involves unrolling the semi-finished material (14) of thermoplastic fiber composite material from a roller (16) and supplying the unrolled semi-finished material towards a tool (12). The unrolled semi-finished element is melted with a heating device (20) arranged in adjacent region of tool. The molten semi-finished material is deposited and simultaneous pressed onto tool. The pressed semi-finished material is wrapped around tool to cover the tool. The hollow-profiled component (10) is produced corresponding to the geometrical shape by rotating the tool.
