The cell retainer has cell links e.g. U-cell links (1) and P-cell links (2), for electrical bonding of a retained battery cell (3), and undercut sections for accommodating the cell links. A lug centers/orients the cell links by a recess for the lug, and ribs support the cell links, where the ribs lead in connection with the undercut sections for tensioning/blocking the cell links. A dome/lead is guided into a corresponding recess.
