The lamp module (15) has a base rail (16), in whose interior space (20), a supply cable (40) with an electrical insulation (42) is arranged. A socket arrangement (50) with a socket (51) is arranged at a cover portion (23). The socket or the cover portion has a fastening unit, by which the socket and the cover portion are detachably mounted on the base rail. The socket comprises two dividing contacts, which penetrate the socket attached to the base rail with the insulation of the supply cable and are in electrical connected with a wire (41) of the supply cable. An independent claim is included for a method for mounting a lamp module.
