The opto-electronic rotating angle- or linear path-sensor (1) has a light-influencing element (4) with a base body made from a lightproof material and a polarization filter. An actuating element (6) is linearly movable opposite to a housing (2) of the sensor during the formation of the sensor as linear path-sensor. The actuating element is rotatably movable around a rotating axis opposite to the housing of the sensor during the formation of the sensor as rotating angle-sensor.
