The method involves pushing an expandable head (3) along a longitudinal direction (C) of a cantilever arm (2). A pipe (6) is moved by the cantilever arm and arranged in clamping wagons (4). The cantilever arm is clamped with the expandable head. The pipe is maintained in clamping state by the clamping wagons during treatment process if the clamping wagons are in a region of the expandable head. A clamping mechanism is opened on the clamping wagons if the pipe and the clamping wagons are expanded in the region of the expandable head. An independent claim is also included for a pipe bungee cord.
