The device (1) has a slider (10) connected with a door casement. A holding unit (12) with engagement hook (13) is arranged in a sliding rail (11). The hook is movable between a snap-in position to hold slider and a release position to release slider. A control pawl (14) is movably arranged at hook. The movement of hook is controlled by control pawl. The door casement is engaged into snap-in position with slider, if slider is pressed over holding unit in opening direction. The door casement is enabled in release position, if slider is pressed over holding unit in closing direction. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) door actuator for a door; and (2) method for operating a locking device for a door with a slider.
