The apparatus has a mobile station (1) that is switched between multiple radio cells (Cell 1-Cell 3). The radio cells comprise multiple transmission devices (AP1-AP3) that are connected by wire to the networks (LAN A,LAN B). A stationary receiver (3) is connected by wire to the networks, such that the redundancy occurs in both the wireless data transmission between the mobile station and the associated transmission devices and the wired data transmission between the transmitting devices and the associated networks. The stationary receiver is redundantly connected by wire to the networks. An independent claim is included for a method for transmitting data between a mobile station and a stationary receiver.
