The method involves providing several stator segments (30) with the stator teeth (3) formed with guide groove (32). The stator segments are assembled in a cylindrical stator (2) having an internal recess for receiving a rotor (10), so that the guide grooves in the inner cavity form peripheral groove for receiving a coil support. The stator segments are conducted to the coil support, so that the outer edge of the coil support is received in the guide groove. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a cylindrical stator assembly; (2) the coil support; and (3) a rotary electric machine.
