The method involves assembling a set of single tap segments (2) to a stator ring (4), where the tap segments are braced with one another by using a biasing device that is designed as a divided disk hub or a slit lever hub. A casting material i.e. plastic, is potted in such a manner that a stator carrier (3) is formed. The tap segments are enclosed at an outer perimeter, so that the tap segments are braced with one another and held in a stator ring mold. An independent claim is also included for a stator for an electric machine.
