The method involves computing image data of an object to be examined using measurement data that are determined during a relative movement between X-ray tubes (C2, C4) of a computer tomography (CT) system (C1) and the object. A defect size is included into an image computation process, where the defect size concerns a measuring system mistake. A cost function is determined using a histogram of the image data, where the cost function is computed as a deviation between the histogram and an ideal histogram. The defect size is determined by iterative minimization of the cost function. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computing unit for reconstruction of image data of an examination object from measurement data of a CT-system (2) a CT-system (3) a computer program comprising a set of instructions for executing a method for calibrating a CT-system (4) a data carrier comprising a set of instructions for executing a method for calibrating a CT-system.
