The method involves providing a rotatable core (1), and preparing a resin sheet (5) formed from a thermoplastic material by extrusion. An inner tube layer is formed by winding of the resin sheet around the core, where the resin sheet is heated to a melting temperature. A continuous fiber sheet is produced by wrapping the inner tube layer with a continuous fiber (7) e.g. aramid fiber. The continuous fiber sheet facing away from the core is integrated at an outer side of inner tube layer heated to its melting temperature.
