The device (1) has a semiconductor light source e.g. LED chip (2) and laser, for radiating a blue primary light, and a phosphor element (3) e.g. reflective element, partially converting the primary light into a secondary light of different spectral distribution. A light radiation pattern is produced by the radiated lights, and consists of asymmetric cut-off lines. The phosphor element comprises a non-uniform edge section whose shape corresponds to a non-uniform portion of the cut-off lines. The edge section has a projection (9) projecting rectilinear, edge sections (10, 11).
