The device (10) has block decoding unit (11) to correct errors in supplied block according to pre-defined processing algorithm and finish error-corrected output block. A test unit (12) checks presence of error in the block according to predetermined test algorithm to correct error and output test signal indicating whether block is free from errors. A control unit (13) supplies a stop signal to decoding unit to stop processing of output block, if test signal shows that block is free from errors, or corrects error in output block, if test signal displays that block is faulted. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) method for decoding block of data stream in baseband; and (2) memory medium storing program for decoding block of data stream in baseband.
