The rotor has a rotor core (5) which is provided with several rotor lamination portions (6) that are stacked in a stacking direction (4). The rotor lamination portions are orthogonally distributed in circumference of a recessed portion over a cross-sectional plane. Recessed portion and permanent magnets (11) are arranged and are extended to axial end portions (7,8) of rotor core. Permanent magnets are fixed in recessed portion by a potting compound and are viewed in stacking direction perpendicular to recessed portion of cross-sectional plane by means of a distribution structure. An independent claim is included for electric machine.
