The ECU assembly (10) has an electric drive (4) that generates a pulse pattern (21a) on high voltage network (1), and measures the battery no-load voltage or battery open-circuit voltage of high voltage battery (6) by power output ports (3,5) of high voltage network, during predetermined shut-off time of power output ports. The electric drive is provided for determining a voltage threshold value from the measured non-load voltage or open-circuit voltage, and for limiting a drive output voltage of drive on a voltage reference value derived from determined voltage threshold value. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) an electrical propulsion system; and (2) a method for actuating electric drive in high voltage network.
