The burner has a gasification burner (2) i.e. pulverized-fuel burner, including an outer cooling part (3) and an inner cooling part (4), and a pilot burner (1) including a cooling part (5) facing towards a gasification chamber. The cooling parts include coolant outlets e.g. slot-like outlets, such that the cooling parts are coolable by coolant e.g. inert gas, which reaches into the chamber through the outlets. The gasification burner is arranged at a head of a gasification device. Ring channels (6, 7) supply the coolant to the outlets. The outlets have a breadth smaller than 500 micrometers.
