The box (1) has two input shafts (EW1, EW2) representing translation stages by reducing gear wheel stages (R2-R8, RR) that are disconnected by switching arrangements (SK, SR, SW, S2, S3, S4, S5a, S5b, S6-S8). A partial gear box (3) is assigned to one of the input shafts. A specific gear wheel stage is optionally inserted into power flux of another partial gear box (2) or inserted in the power flux of the latter partial gear box. Some of translation stages are formed as winding gears under activation of the specific gear wheel stage.
