The ferry has an electrical propulsion system (1) and a super capacitor (2) i.e. ultra capacitor, exhibiting an energy store (3) for supplying energy. A charging device (4) charges the energy store with external energy. The charging device comprises an induction loop, and is partially movable. A regenerative power supply (5) is provided on a board of the ferry that is used for a photovoltaic system for reduction of external energy requirement. The energy store is connected with a direct current (DC) bus (7). An independent claim is also included for a ferry dock.
