The damper (1) has a reinforcing component (3) embracing a cylinder tube (2) on an outer-side in a circumferential direction. The reinforcing component includes two stiffener sections (4a), which act against radial deformation of the reinforcing component and the deformation of the cylinder tube caused by clamping force. The stiffener sections are formed from the reinforcing component under the maintenance of a bending radius (21a). An end section of the reinforcing component is radially outward or radially inward deformed for the formation of the respective stiffener sections. The reinforcing component is made of a metallic material and a non-metallic material. The damper includes a safety component to be formed from a metallic material and a non-metallic material.
