The device (20) has an actuating element (300) driven by a drive element (100), and a lever (400) actuated by the actuating element. A driven element (32) is driven by the lever. Contact geometries for the actuating element and the lever are formed such that a radially inward force on the lever is exerted with respect to a longitudinal axis (L) of the transmission device. A surface of the contact geometries of the actuating element comprises an inner chamfer or a portion of a cone outer surface with a straight or curved generatrix. An independent claim is also included for a lever unit for a mechanical transmission device of a fuel injector.
