The torsional vibration damper has an input element that is provided with a flange portion (106) and a lid portion (108). An output element is provided with a common rotational axis about which an input portion and an output portion are rotatable together. A spring-damper device is provided with an energy storage device (122). A protective device is provided with a membrane (102) for protecting the spring damping device. The energy storage device is held between the flange portion and the lid portion.
