The control unit has a shift circuit, which is suitable to connect with a light emitting diode of one of the two types in order to reduce the ratio of the current through the light emitting diode divided by the feeding current while dimming. The shift circuit is connected in parallel to the light emitting diode of another type. The shift circuit is an ohmic resistor. The shift circuit is a temperature sensitive component with positive or negative temperature behavior. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a light emitting diode module with an operating circuit; and (2) a method for operating multiple light emitting diodes.
