Method for determining dead time of vehicle driving on approach roads of traffic node, involves determining dead time of vehicle, if value of virtual vehicle counter is larger than value of farther actual vehicle counter
The method involves detecting first passing time of vehicle and incrementing first actual vehicle counter to the first passing time. The virtual vehicle counter is incremented according to expiry of predetermined target travel time. The farther passing time of vehicle is detected and farther actual vehicle counter is incremented to the farther passing time. The dead time of vehicle is determined, if the value of the virtual vehicle counter is larger than the value of the farther actual vehicle counter. The predetermined target travel time is dependant on permissible maximum speed and previously known spacing between the vehicle detectors in travel directions (FR2-FR5). Independent claims are included for the following: (1) method for dynamic controlling of signaling devices; and (2) device for determination of dead time of vehicle.
