The commutator (100) comprises commutator housing (102) having first end that is arranged near an armature (12) of an electric machine (10) in a mounted state on an armature shaft (14). The second end of the commutator housing is arranged away from the armature on the armature shaft. A magnetic transducer unit (120) is integrated into the second end away from the armature. The magnetic transducer unit is integrated into a recess portion of the commutator housing.
