The drive (1) has an internal combustion engine (2) i.e. turbo compound combustion engine, coupled with a generator (3) for providing electrical power. An electric machine (4) converts the electrical power into driving power. The internal combustion engine is provided with first and second exhaust downstream turbines, where the second turbine is mechanically connected with a crankshaft (10) of the engine and a drive axle (6) of a vehicle. A freewheel is provided between the crankshaft and second turbine to prevent dragging of the second turbine through the crankshaft.
