Producing housing of a pump which is at least partially coated with a mineral casting, comprises producing a coating (B) from deformable and partially cured plate-shaped elements (2) formed from the mineral casting, applying an adhesive on sections of at least one housing element (1) of the housing, to be coated, and/or on sides (2.1) of the plate-shaped elements facing the sections, applying the plate-shaped elements on sections to be coated, and mechanically fitting a mold of the plate-shaped elements to a contour of the respective section, and completely curing the plate-shaped elements. An independent claim is also included for the housing of the pump, produced by the above method, comprising at least one housing element which is a cover housing part of the housing.
