The valve (12) has a valve membrane (40) clamped between a valve cover (18) and a valve plate (28) i.e. ring mold, under tension, where the valve plate is attached with the valve cover over positive or actuated compounds (52, 54). The valve cover and the valve plate are made of a plastic material, and the valve membrane is made of an elastomer. The valve cover, the valve plate and the valve membrane form a preassembled valve assembly. A top face (22) of the valve cover comprises a centering cam (16) for aligning the pre-assembled valve unit relative to a housing (14). An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a valve.
