The device (15) has housing (7) including a shaft (6) and a floating bearing (12) having a roller bearing element (14), i.e. angular contact ball bearing. The roller bearing element is supported by a slide bearing axially displaceable in the housing, and with an elastically deformable ring element, which is associated with the slide bearing. A ring with a low friction coefficient i.e. PTFE ring, is arranged on the elastically deformable ring element of the slide bearing. The ring element is configured as an O-ring, and is attached to a support ring i.e. steel support ring. An independent claim is also included for a turbo supercharger with a running wheel.
