The sensor (22) has a light running time pixel (24) and a reference light running time pixel (26) for reception of a modulated reference light. The reference light running time pixel exhibits a nonlinear curve and linear or logarithmic curve in sections. The reference pixel exhibits different dynamics and/or curves. The reference pixel is modulated in different phase positions. The reference pixel is operated in a modulation phase. The reference pixel is illuminated with the reference light by a light channel (265).
