Method for optimizing heliostat arrangement of solar power plant, involves simulating free movement of virtual ball in potential field, and determining position of heliostat based on position of heliostat associated ball in field
The method involves determining solar parameters at power plant, setting design boundary conditions for plant, and mapping solar parameters and boundary conditions as virtual potential field. A force field is produced as a function of real optical interference of heliostat on neighboring heliostats that are mapped as virtual balls, a force is applied from potential field on respective ball, and free movement of virtual ball in potential field is simulated. The position of each heliostat is determined based on position of heliostat associated ball in potential field.
