The pump (16) e.g. gear pump (14), has a working chamber arranged at a running wheel (52) and divided into an inflow working chamber and an outflow working chamber. An inflow channel (65) flows into the inflow working chamber, and outflow channels (66, 67) flow into the outflow working chamber. A position of the outflow channels and the inflow channel at the working chamber is adjustable for controlling a volumetric flow of a fluid flowing into the inflow working chamber via the inflow channel and a volumetric flow of the fluid flowing into the outflow working chamber via the outflow channels. An independent claim is also included for a high pressure injection system of a combustion engine.
