The present disclosure provides a polymer electrolyte membrane that is chemically associated with an ionic liquid. More specifically, the present disclosure provides a polymer electrolyte membrane that is chemically bonded to the ionic liquid by reacting the ionic liquid at the end of a novel polymer chain. The polymer electrolyte membrane described herein has high hydrogen ion conductivity even at high temperatures and in an anhydrous environment. In addition, the membrane shows electrochemical stability and thermal stability. In addition, the polymer electrolyte membrane can also be used in a dried-out biofuel cell at high temperatures.
