The interaction apparatus (10) has a microcontroller (12), user interface (14), several communication interfaces (16,18), and a core component (20). The core component is made available, by an application (26,28). The core component and the application are executed by the microcontroller. The application is realized in a form of reloadable program block, and which is read into the microcontroller. The administration of the application is carried out by the core component. The capacities of the user interface are configured through the application. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a method of adapting an interaction apparatus for building infrastructure; and (2) a building automation system.
