The chisel tool (10a) has a receiving shaft (12a), a shaft (14a) and a head (16a) with a work contour (18a). A cross-sectional surface (20a) of the shaft is partially reduced against a cross-sectional surface (22a) of the receiving shaft. The shaft has a transition region (24a) which is adjacent to the head or to the receiving shaft. The transition region is formed notch-free. A sum of lengths of transition region is less than half the length of the shaft. The shaft has a constant cross-sectional surface. The chisel tool has a sheathing formed of plastic material.
