Provided is a wafer for solar cells, which can be manufactured by using a polycrystalline semiconductor wafer cut out using a bonded abrasive wire, which wafer can be used for the production of a high conversion efficiency solar cell. In a solar cell wafer according to the present invention prior to acid texturing made of a polycrystalline semiconductor wafer cut out using a bonded abrasive wire, an amorphous layer is not present, and unevenness caused due to cutting with the bonded abrasive wire remains in at least a surface of the wafer for solar cells.
